Purpose – Describes the corporate athletics programme that has been developed by the investment bank, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, which is designed to offer high-potential employees coaching and management development from top athletes. Design/methodology/approach – Describes the corporate athletics programme, quoting from Andrew Pullman, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein’s managing director, human resources, about why the programme was set up, its effectiveness and the plans to expand it. An inset discusses if sports people have anything to offer businesses. Findings – Cites the view of Pullman that businesses can learn a great deal from sport.
