About the Contributors
Aldo Alvarez-Risco is a Professor in the International Business career at the Universidad de Lima and has a PhD in Administration by Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, a Doctor in Pharmacy and Biochemistry, and a master's degree in Pharmacology and Pharmacist by Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He is a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB), a member of the Global Business Research Group of the Scientific Research Institute of the Universidad de Lima, a speaker in events in 22 countries, and an author of books and articles in international business, sustainability, and health systems.
María de las Mercedes Anderson-Seminario is a Professor in the International Business career at the Universidad de Lima, is a Candidate to Doctor in Global Business Administration from the Universidad Ricardo Palma, and has a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics by the Universidad Agraria La Molina and Economist from the Universidad de Lima. She is also a Member of the Academy of International Business (AIB), a Member of the Global Business Research Group of the Scientific Research Institute of the Universidad de Lima, and a collaborative research professor of the economic research group of professors at the Universidad Agraria La Molina.
Lisset-Vanesa Apcho-Ccencho is a Student of International Business career at the Universidad de Lima.
Stephen L. Baglione is a Professor of Marketing and Quantitative Methods at Saint Leo University in Florida. He received his doctorate in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. Dr Baglione has authored or co-authored over 55 journal articles. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia twice. He has won the University Teacher of the Year (twice). He is a multiple winner of the Saint Leo University Researcher of the Year (four times) and College of Business Researcher of the Year (four times) and Teacher of the Year (five times).
Ms Zhen Bi is a full-time Postgraduate at School of Management, University of Science and Technology of China. She holds an undergraduate degree in Internet of Things Engineering from Dalian Maritime University. Her research interests include supply chain management and data envelopment analysis.
Berdy-Briggitte Cuya-Velásquez is a Student of International Business career at the Universidad de Lima.
Alfredo Estrada-Merino is a Professor in the International Business career at the Universidad de Lima. He received his doctorate in Education from Universidad de San Martin de Porres (Peru), with Doctoral Studies in Global Business Administration at Universidad Ricardo Palma (Peru), Master in Business Direction at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain), Master of International Business Management at ESIC (Spain). He is a Coordinator of the Global Business Research Group of the Scientific Research Institute at Universidad de Lima and Director of Center of Sustainability at Universidad de Lima. He is a researcher with experience in sustainability, gender studies, international policies studies, academic internationalization, and global business.
Zhimin Huang is a Professor of Operations Management in the School of Business at Adelphi University. He received his BS in Industrial Engineering from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, MS in Economics from the Renmin University of China, and PhD in Management Science from the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests are mainly in supply chain management, data envelopment analysis, distribution channels, game theory, chance constrained programming theory, and multicriteria decision-making analysis.
Ronald Klimberg is a Professor in the Decision and System Sciences Department of the Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph's University. He received his BS in Information Systems from the University of Maryland, his MS in Operations Research from George Washington University, and his PhD in Systems Analysis and Economics for Public Decision-Making from the Johns Hopkins University.
Alicia T. Lamere is an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department at Bryant University, where she cofounded and directs the university's Statistical Consulting Office. She received her PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Notre Dame, where she was a Schmitt Fellow. She received her BA from Hamilton College, with degrees in Mathematics and Studio Art. Alicia's research is concerned with developing statistical methods for analyzing RNA-sequencing counts, although she is also interested in other non-Gaussian applications and statistical teaching pedagogy. Her published work can be found in journals such as Bioinformatics and Statistics and Its Interface.
Sheila M. Lawrence is a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor on the SMLR/LSER faculty at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where she teaches courses in statistics, problem solving, survey design, and personal finance.
Dr Kenneth D. Lawrence is a Professor of Management Science and Business Analytics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Tuchman School of Business. His research areas center on forecasting, multicriteria decision-making, data envelopment analysis, and data mining.
María-Alejandra Leiva-Martínez is a Student of International Business career at the Universidad de Lima and a volunteer in Global Business Research Group
Amitava Mitra is a Professor of Quality and Business Analytics in the Harbert College of Business in the Department of Systems and Technology at Auburn University. His research interests are in the areas of quality assurance, quality management, regression analysis, warranty analysis, applied statistics, and multicriteria modeling.
Sabina Mlodzianowska is the Director of the Master's Program in Operations and Project Management at the Graduate School of the University of Lima and Associate Professor at the International Business Program at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lima. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Gdansk (Poland) and master degrees in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University (Canada) and in Economics from the University of Gdansk (Poland). Her research interests relate to mining, dialogue and community engagement process in the context of the resource sectors, supply chain, foreign direct investment, sustainable development, and tourism.
Gao Niu is an Assistant Professor in Actuarial Science at Bryant University. He also serves as the Coordinator of Actuarial Math Program at Bryant University and Faculty Consultant at the Goldenson Center for Actuarial Research, University of Connecticut. He has a doctorate in actuarial science from the University of Connecticut and is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Dr Niu has years of experience in academic research and consulting practice. His research area includes predictive modeling, financial planning, life insurance and health insurance pricing, reserving, machine learning, and data mining.
Son Nguyen earned his master's degree in applied mathematics and doctoral degree in mathematics with statistics emphasis, both at Ohio University. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics at Bryant University. His primary research interests lie in dimensionality reduction, imbalanced classification, and statistical learning. In addition to the theoretical aspects, he is also interested in applying statistics to other areas such as finance and healthcare.
Alan Olinsky is a Professor of Mathematics and Information Systems Analytics at Bryant University. He earned his PhD in Management Science from the University of Rhode Island and his research interests include multivariate statistics, management science, business analytics, and data mining. He is the past president of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Statistical Association and has appeared several times as an expert witness in statistical matters at hearings and trials.
John Quinn is a Professor of Mathematics at Bryant University and has been teaching there since 1991. Prior to teaching, he was an engineer at the Naval Underwater Systems Center (now the Naval Undersea Warfare Center). He received his BSc degree from Brown University in 1978 and his MS and PhD degrees from Harvard University in 1987 and 1991, respectively.
Samuel Ratick is an Emeritus Professor and Senior Research Scientist in the Graduate School of Geography and the International Development, Community and Environment Department (Environmental Science and Policy program) and the former director of the George Perkins Marsh Research Institute at Clark University. He received his BA in Mathematics from SUNY Buffalo and his PhD in Geography and Environmental Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University.
Diego Alvarado Rodríguez is a Student of International Business career at the Universidad de Lima.
Phyllis Schumacher is a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Bryant University. She earned her PhD in Statistics from the University of Connecticut and also holds an MS and BA in Mathematics from the University of Rhode Island. She is a Member of the American Statistical Association and is a past president of the RI Chapter.
John L. Stanton has a PhD in Quantitative Methods from Syracuse University and has been in the food industry for about 40 years. He is currently a Professor and previously held endowed chair in the food marketing department at Saint Joseph's University. He was elected to the European Retail Academy Hall of Fame and the Private Label Manufacturers Hall of Fame.
Matthew Steeves is a Member of the Client Solutions team at Sun Life Capital Management. His work focuses on using quantitative modeling and data analysis to develop multi-asset investment strategies for institutional clients. Matt graduated from Bryant University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Applied Mathematics and Statistics.
Divyanshi Trakroo earned a master's degree in information systems from Penn State Harrisburg; she is a Graduate Student within the Business Administration Department at Penn State Harrisburg. She will receive her master's degree in Management Information Systems in May 2021. She acquired managerial skills at IBM after her bachelor's degree in computer science. Her work at IBM inculcated in her the passion to work as a business analyst to bridge the gap between the technology and management sectors.
Fangqing Wei is a Postdoctoral Fellow of Management at School of Management, University of Science and Technology of China. He holds a bachelor's degree in management and a doctorate in management. His research interest includes data envelopment analysis, business data analysis, and supply chain management. He has published several articles in international academic journals such as Journal of the Operational Research Society, OR Spectrum, Computers & Industrial Engineering, and others.
Feng Yang is a Full Professor of Management at School of Management, University of Science and Technology of China. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a doctorate in management. His research interests include supply chain management, data envelopment analysis, business data analysis, information system, and decision science.
