More knowledge
Knowledge Management is important (see above!) – it is concerned with protecting and exploiting the important intangible assets of the organisation. However, the old-fashioned business principle still exists... If you cannot measure it, you cannot manage it! Of course it is difficult to find a reliable, independent and objective way to measure knowledge efficiency or the key "pressure points" to act on in order to improve it. Enter A-Knowledge, which claims to have addressed this problem and has developed a unique methodology to measure the knowledge efficiency of organisations. This involves looking at:
- •
organisation for KM;
- •
information flow;
- •
knowledge generation;
- •
knowledge storage;
- •
knowledge utilisation; and
- •
knowledge update.
A-Knowledge was formed by a partnership between SGS (a leader in verification, testing and certification) and Think Tools AG (a Switzerland-based provider of knowledge tools and methodologies for highly complex strategic issues). See http://www.a-knowledge.com/index.shtml
