Article Type: Editorial From: Team Performance Management, Volume 16, Issue 1/2

We would like to begin the year by thanking the Editorial Advisory Board members for their continued support and input to the journal. We would also like to welcome our new members to the Board and look forward to working with them over the coming years: Haydn Bennett, Céleste Brotheridge, Travor C. Brown, Nicholas Clarke, Graeme Coetzer, Petru Curseu, Rajib Lochan Dhar, Ingo Forstenlechner, Liisa Huusko, Jeanette Lemmergaard, Ana Romero Martinez, Helen Rogers, Ana Schetach, Donald Swanson and Seung-Bum Yang. We would like to thank the reviewers, professional scholars and practitioners for 2009 who provided high quality and timely reviews to authors and who are named below. If you are interested in reviewing for the journal in future, please do let us know.

The journal has now become a member of and subscribes to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Their web site is at: http://publicationethics.org/.

In 2009, we published 25 articles, with first authors representing ten countries: Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Israel, South Korea, The Netherlands, UK, and USA. A wide range of team performance management topics were represented, including team effectiveness, performance, empowerment, commitment, conflict and knowledge sharing in teams. We also published a Special Issue on “Team performance management in the sports industry” edited by Dr Vanessa Ratten of Duquesne University, USA.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Jack K. Ito and Céleste M. Brotheridge for winning the 2009 Team Performance Management Outstanding Paper Award. Their article: “Do teams grow up one stage at a time? Exploring the complexity of group development models” can be found in Volume 14, No. 5/6, published in 2008. The 2009 Highly Commended Awards went to María Isabel Delgado Piña, Ana María Romero Martínez and Luis Gómez Martínez for “Teams in organisations: a review on team effectiveness” published in Vol. 14, No. 1/2 and Kay Greasley, Alan Bryman, Andrew Dainty, Andrew Price, Nicola Naismith and Robby Soetanto for “Understanding empowerment from an employee perspective: what does it mean and do they want it?” also in Vol. 14, No. 1/2. And finally, congratulations to Nicholas Clarke, of Southampton University, for winning the 2009 Outstanding Reviewer Award.

In 2010, we will have another special issue on “Expats and citizens: managing diverse teams in the Middle East”, edited by Dr Ingo Forstenlechner of the United Arab Emirates University. This will be published in Vol. 16, No. 5/6 in 2010. If you have any proposals for future special issues, please send us your ideas for consideration. We would particularly like to encourage special issues, which provide a platform for contributions from a diverse range of countries, to facilitate our aim of further increasing the internationalisation of the journal.
