which appeared in Team Performance Management, Vol. 10 No. 3/4, 2004

Jim Eggensperger is director of graduate programs in public relations and journalism at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY and is finalizing his doctoral dissertation on leadership in the newsrooms of daily newspapers in the United States at Capella University. After spending his early career in daily newspapers, he moved to IBM as an editor, head of corporate speechwriting and issue management. Upon leaving IBM, he moved to marketing and internet agencies as project manager and chief operating offices. In 2001 he joined the faculty at Iona, teaching organizational communication, marketing and publication management. He received his MS in Journalism from Columbia University in New York and his MBA from the University of Connecticut. He is married with two grown sons.
