Major investment at DEK screens
Major investment at DEK screens
Keywords DEK, Screens
DEK Precision Screens (a division of DEK Printing Machines) has made substantial investments at its European operations during 1998. The Weymouth facility has recently been increased by over 50 percent, with a second laser added and the installation of new advanced production equipment to provide a same-day turnaround of orders and improve accuracy and customer service.
Specially designed digitally controlled stretching beds have been installed with existing beds upgraded for improved performance, also automated coating equipment designed and installed to DEK's requirements. The units are digitally controlled for improved quality control and traceability. Several screens can be coated at the same time to achieve a faster turnaround (Plate 2).

A vast increase in the use of laser cut stencils (DEK now have five lasers in Europe) has resulted in an additional six CAD operators to handle and process the incoming files.
