Xaar and its ink partner Sericol have developed the Xaar Color+ XV Ink Series. A range of high- performance pigmented solvent-based inks developed for use with the recently launched Xaar XJ126/200 and high-speed XJ128/200 plus printheads. Said to be ideal for wide format scanning applications they are designed to achieve high-quality results on a variety of substrates, including banner grade PVC, self-adhesive vinyl, textile mesh and paper.
The Color+ XV Ink Series' light fastness properties make them perfect for durable outdoor applications, the company said. The inks have been formulated for rapid dry times on substrates without the application of heat – typical dry times for the inks on vinyl, for example, are 60 s at 40°C. The new ink series is also said to show excellent resistance to abrasion, water and common solvents when used on recommended materials. Commenting on the Xaar Color+ XV Ink Series, Jill Woods, Inks Product Manager said: “With a growing concern over the number of third party unapproved inks coming to market, Xaar and its ink partners are working together to develop approved inks, which are inks that have been specifically designed to work with Xaar's printhead products”.
By investing in Xaar approved inks, OEMs and end-users can be assured that Xaar printheads will achieve optimum performance levels and avoid the hazards caused by unapproved inks which can result in machine downtime and high maintenance costs, she added. The Color+ XV Ink Series is available in the process colours cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow and black. The inks come with a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacturing when stored between 5 and 30°C.
