Having written books myself on the GI diet and Low GL foods published by Kyle Kathie I was interested to see this book which features low GL recipes.

The book contains a good introduction to what is a well balanced diet unfortunately it uses the pyramid model rather than the Eatwell Plate as advocated by the Food Standards Agency.

There is a good section on GI values of foods and on antioxidants. There is also a section on milk- and wheat-free diets.

The section on different ingredients from different parts of the world is both informative and tempting.

The best part of the book is the good selection of recipes that even includes alcohol. The recipes would be inexpensive and quite easy to prepare as well as tasty.
