Breakfast research

Breakfast research

A nationwide on-line survey, during 25-31 January 2004, will look at the effects of eating a healthy balanced breakfast on cognitive function -particularly memory and attention levels.

Completing the survey will help raise awareness within schools of the importance of eating a healthy, balanced breakfast and provide hooks for discussion and exploration of the Balance of Good Health.

To take part, pupils will have logged on to http://www.cdr.org.uk/breakfast before 11 a.m. on any morning during next week. They will undertake five short, simple tasks: each task takes between 1 to 2 minutes, so the activity should have taken approximately 10 minutes in total. The children then answered multiple choice questions about the breakfast they have had that day.

The survey was being hosted by the Home Grown Cereals Authority.
