The "Human Interface" has a sub-title "New Directions for Designing Interactive Systems". The publishers say that both Raskin and Apple helped to introduce a previous revolution in computer interface design. This is a part of software development that has always intrigued cyberneticians who believe that such interfaces cannot be successfully produced with recourse to interdisciplinary techniques. The author has, however, a reputation for producing computer interfaces that have drawn their design concepts from the best available technology and in consequence has established many of the interface techniques and methods that are now in universal use in the computer industry.

The author believes that the "Human Interface" delivers a way for computers, information appliances, and other technology-driven products to continue to advance in power and expand their range of applicability, while becoming free of the hassles and obscurities that plague present products.
