DigitalThink, Inc. and KPMG Consulting, LLC have announced a major contract with GE Capital to create the "GE e-awareness curriculum", a forum that will teach e-business concepts and strategies to GE Capital employees. The curriculum is being delivered via the Internet in four languages to 40,000 employees worldwide. Under the agreement, GE Capital is working with DigitalThink and the KPMG Consulting e-Learning Solutions practice to develop a suite of e-learning offerings that will teach successful e-business models to GE Capital associates around the globe.

Using DigitalThink's hosted e-learning environment, the "GE e-awareness curriculum" will provide a worldwide audience of GE employees with a common understanding of e-commerce and e-business models. KPMG Consulting's e-Learning Solutions practice is working with DigitalThink's Learning Solutions team to create the curriculum content, and is also providing curriculum planning, instructional design and project management services to the team project. The initial phase of the training was successfully deployed in 30 days. The companies expect to continue their rapid roll-out by completing the entire curriculum deployment in 120 days.

"The GE e-awareness curriculum" is an exciting new tool our employees can use to fully understand how the Internet can improve everything from supply chain co-ordination to customer interactions", said Dennis Nayden, president and CEO of GE Capital. "By making it easy and interesting for our employees to learn, we are making great strides in having an organization that is truly e-literate the key to success in this e-revolution".

The e-learning solution being developed for GE Capital is available through any standard Internet connection 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in any time zone, and in multiple languages. Together with KPMG Consulting, DigitalThink will create an e-learning portal for GE Capital through which employees can access the GE e-awareness curriculum and management can track and administer the learning process. Delivery will be in English, German, French and Japanese.
