2nd International Colloquium on Tourism & Leisure
You are cordially invited to the 2nd International Colloquium on Tourism & Leisure (ICTL), to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 5 to 8 May 2008.
The overall aim of the conference is provide a lively forum for academics and professionals to meet and exchange interesting new research and ideas in an informal, interdisciplinary setting.
We are delighted to announce that Professor Erik Cohen has agreed to be our Keynote Speaker for this event. Many of you will be admirers of Professor Cohen's classic works on tourism and social change, and this is a great opportunity for us to hear him speak on the topic of “Explorations in Thai Tourism”.
We are now accepting abstracts for papers in any area related to tourism and leisure, but we particularly encourage critical and interdisciplinary papers in the areas of eco-tourism, space tourism, women in tourism, theories of tourism, sex tourism, exploitation, phenomenological approaches, tourism and the environment, health tourism, tourism and risk, developments in the travel industries, ethnographies of tourist attractions, tourism and globalization, sports studies, tourism and the life-course, ethnographies of leisure, and papers that address the cross-over between tourism and leisure theory and research.

All submissions will be refereed, and accepted papers will be included in the official conference proceedings, which will have an assigned ISBN number. Selected papers will be also published in an edited book.
