Article Type: Editorial From: Gender in Management: An International Journal, Volume 23, Issue 8

This last year has seen radical changes in the journal, with a new title, a move to double blind reviews and Manuscript Central. All these changes have been designed to increase the journal’s standing in academia and to promote gender and management as a serious discipline throughout the international community. These changes have taken a great deal of planning and effort and I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of those at Emerald who have worked so hard to develop the journal, especially Nancy Rolph and Andrea Watson Lee. I would also like to thank all of the Editorial Advisory Board for their support and input, as well as the new Editorial Review Board members who have all been so enthusiastic in their new roles.

This transitional year has not been free of its difficulties and I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we have ironed the bugs out of the system, we will of course continue to monitor and improve issues as they arise. Finally, in answer to a question that many of you have raised, inclusion in Thomson Reuters (formerly ISI) remains our medium-long term aim and to this end we’ve recently submitted the journal for evaluation. The process of acceptance can be a lengthy one but we will keep you informed of any progress and we will make a formal announcement should the journal be accepted. Once again I would like to thank you for all of your support – it is a commitment that I am sure will be reflected in the increasing recognition of the journal as a rigorous publication of international renown.
