BMI have recently updated the Information Guide for Facilities Management to reflect the increase in the use of the Internet as a tool for finding information and e-mail for general correspondence.

BMI have thoroughly researched and located all organisations and trade associations with a link to any sphere of facilities management, construction and maintenance.

The guide was launched in response to the rapid growth in the facilities management profession. Facilities management covers a huge range of disciplines and it was to meet this need to find information on disciplines ranging from finance and computing to stained glass and steeplejacks that the guide was introduced and has now been updated.

The guide is divided into three sections:

The first section is an alphabetical list of organisations that should be able to provide information on one or more aspects of facilities management. Each entry generally comprises the full organisation name, together with a brief description of its aims and objectives. Full contact details are provided including address, telephone, fax and, where applicable, an e-mail address for general enquiries and the organisation's Home Page.

The second section comprises an alphabetical list of organisations' initials, and the abbreviations and acronyms by which they are known.

The third section forms a subject index to the organisations.

The Information Guide should prove to be a useful addition to the library of anyone who is looking for information on any aspect of facilities management.

Information Guide for Facilities Management – A Guide to Information Sources on Facilities Management, March 2001. Available as part of the BMI subscription service, or individually priced £25.00, from BMI, 12 Great George Street, Parliament Square, London SW1P 3AD.
