DUAL PURPOSE TURBINE GEAR HOBBING AND SHAVING MACHINE

Abstract

A RANGE OF NEW DUAL PURPOSE MACHINE TOOLS, the first in the world capable of both hobbing and shaving large turbine gears, has been developed by David Brown Industries Ltd., Machine Tool Division, Manchester. These can produceturbine gears from 60 in. to 175 in. diameter, pinions, and first reduction wheels from 6 in. to 60 in. diameter.
