Round the Circuit

Abstract

Welwyn Electric Limited announce that they have received the first approval granted to any company for BS9450 Capability Approval. This is the long awaited specification for custom‐built hybrid integrated circuits, and for which it is impracticable that suppliers seek separate Qualification Approval for each assembly. BS9450 lays down standards for processes and products, and approval is granted for a declared manufacturing capability. It ensures that each of the processes is carried out with a defined quality check; it also establishes that quality control procedures are adequately formalised, to ensure a satisfactory quality of product.
