Evolution of the physical distribution concept—a case history

Abstract

In this article one company's experience with the total distribution concept is chronicled. It is particularly interesting because it traces the development of thinking within the company from a first acceptance of the need for physical distribution management through to the final realisation of the need for a total logistics approach and resulting implementation.
