New Materials

Abstract

Brief Particulars of Recently Introduced Materials likely to have Aircraft, Missile or Space Vehicle Applications. General Electric Co. of the U.S.A. has introduced a diamond‐like abrasive material synthesized by super‐pressure technology. The new material is Borazon cubic boron nitride. The crystalline material is being introduced in a metal coated form for evaluation as a high performance industrial abrasive for precision grinding of hardened ferrous metals.
