Research and Test Apparatus

Abstract

The Bell Aircraft Corporation has been awarded a United States Air Force contract for the development of manufacturing methods to produce an insulated double‐wall type cooled structure which would enable space vehicles to survive the severe high temperatures generated when re‐entering the earth's atmosphere, and would also be used in the design of aircraft subjected to severe aerodynamic heating.
