Abstract
THERE is a widespread movement towards a renewal of interest in gliding, a sport which has for some years been a prominent part of aeronautical activity in Germany. In spite of the holding of several meetings, it does not seem to have caught on very greatly in France; while, so far as our information goes, it seems to be showing no greater tendency to spread in America; but there is none the less a large number of people all over the world trying to stir up interest. In England particularly there is at the moment considerable activity, which has received an impetus from a lecture read recently before the Royal Aeronautical Society by Dr. Walter Georgii, principal of the Rhön Rossiten Gesellschaft research department at the Wasserkuppe since 1926. “The British Gliding Association” has been formed, and this body is to hold its inaugural meeting on March 27.
