Abstract

This paper will provide a detailed account of what happened at two Japanese manufacturing transplants where single union/no strike deals (here on referred to as New Style Agreements) were in operation. The two transplants were in the UK consumer electronics sector and both had signed their New Style Agreements with the then Electrician's union the EETPU (now part of the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union).
