THE USE OF THE XEROX 914 FOR THE REPRODUCTION OF SHEAF CATALOGUE ENTRIES
Abstract
Durham University Library is divided into three parts, with separate Science and Oriental sections across the river from the main library on Palace Green. Each has its own catalogue, which in the case of the main library consists of an author catalogue on sheaf slips, for which entries are also supplied by the two sectional libraries, and a classified catalogue 011 cards; both of these were formerly typed from the cataloguers' manuscript slips, which are subsequently used as a shelf list. The catalogue entries of the Science section were produced in the same way, but its author catalogue was on cards.
