WINDSOR RE˜ROUTEING: Its implications for distribution
Abstract
Should the physical distribution industry pay for improvements to the local environment? Just when the Dykes Act seemed to be dead, a High Court decision last December dismissed an appeal against Berkshire CC's order banning heavy lorries without permits on amenity grounds from a 40sq mile area to the east, south and west of Windsor. Whether other county councils will follow suit probably depends on the outcome of a Court of Appeal hearing later this year.
