Some Significant Research in Educational Administration
Abstract
The increasing attention which is being given to educational administration is by no means limited to theory and practice. Indeed, the vital link between the two—research in educational administration—is becoming increasingly prominent. However, if these studies arc to make a contribution it is most necessary to consider their significance in both general and specific contexts. The purpose of this article is to discuss the nature and implications of a number of the more significant research studies. For clarity and case of treatment the studies have been grouped under three main headings: the organization; the educational administrator; the community. A further section is demoted to the question of methods of research. In the case of each study particular emphasis has been given to implications for both theory and practice. In addition an attempt has been made to indicate the possible scope for application of the findings and methods to the Australian scene.
