Abstract

Introduction In engineering practice it is necessary to distinguish between the requirements of ‘on line’ dewatering, where water is to be removed between two stages of a treatment process, and dewatering prior to storage. In the latter instance, a dewatering preservative is frequently used, obviating the need for a separate coating application. It is therefore evident that for such a product it is important to distinguish clearly between dewatering efficiency and the ability of the coating to protect an article in a corrosive environment.
