Abstract

In 1969 it was decided to undertake a project at the London College of Printing to establish the feasibility and desirability of adapting to the needs of Printing Craft students the material produced by the Nuffield projects for ‘O’ level Physics and Chemistry. It was considered necessary to establish the objectives of teaching science to students following City and Guilds courses and to obtain the views of experienced teachers on the most appropriate teaching method. It was also decided to investigate the response of the students to selected topics from the ‘O’ level Physics and Chemistry schemes. This article describes the work carried out to achieve these two aims.
