Improving Industrial Relations – The Mediator's Contribution
274
Abstract
In industrial relations terms the third party role has been traditionally seen either in terms of the honest counsel in the face of emotion and conflict, or more directly as analogous to the boxing referee who keeps well out of the way of the fighting whilst allowing the contestants to bash hell out of each other — but within the rides. Needless to say, none of these existing images fits exactly what we have in mind.
