The talent trifecta

Purpose Advises on how human resource managers can develop a pool of talented employees within their organization. Design/methodology/approach Splits talent management into three components competence, commitment and contribution. Discusses how human resource managers can develop employees who are highly competent; ensure their commitment to their jobs and the organization; and support them to work hard and feel fulfilled by their work. Findings Argues that human resource managers need to place equal importance on all three of these components, stressing that talented employees need the skills, will and purpose to make the maximum contribution to the organization.
