Sensor Products Inc. unveils Pressure Points® tactile force indicating films. Pressure Points represent a new cost effective and convenient method of utilizing Pressurex tactile pressure sensor film “TPSF”. Pressure Points, a useful metrology tool in assessing magnitude and distribution of compressive loads in contacting or impacting surfaces, has application in both machine/component inspection and calibration processes (see Plate 4).

Each Pressure Point sensor film comes pre-packaged in a ready-to-use blister sealed pouch. Pressure Points are available in sizes ranging from 0.3 in (0.8 cm) to 1 in (2.5 cm) diameter.

Precise PSI (kg/cm2) can be determined by comparison of the Pressure Point to a colour calibration chart (conceptually similar to interpreting Litmus paper), or by using one of several imaging systems that Sensor Products supplies.
