Founded over 25 years ago, the Protonique Group rapidly established a worldwide reputation, initially within the realm of cleaning electronics assemblies. It developed the renowned Contaminometer and Insulohmeter instruments – now manufactured under licence by Multicore Solders Limited – with their many "firsts", as well as the most sophisticated aqueous batch cleaners available. Its Consultancy Division counts many international and national governments and NGOs, as well as industrial concerns of all sizes, amongst its clients. These include the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and a commission with the Swiss Government, which has been ongoing since 1989. The Chairman of Protonique Limited, Brian Ellis, represents the Swiss Government on a UNEP Technical Options Committee dealing with the impact of cleaning solvents on the ozone layer: he chairs the electronics working group. The Web Services Division is the relative newcomer, started in 1995. It has developed and hosted Internet Web sites for companies and organisations in several countries, over two continents. The speciality is the low-cost and efficient Web site creation for small and medium enterprises, particularly in the high-technology sectors, with especial emphasis on fast loading times.

The Protonique Group, its member companies and individuals within the companies have been honoured with numerous awards over the years, including from the UNEP, the US Environmental Protection Agency, the IPC, etc.
