PMJ Automec Corporation, the Lohja-based manufacturer of automation systems, has received major new orders during the past weeks.

In January, PMJ signed a preliminary agreement on the delivery of two PCB depanelling and testing lines for a telecommunications industry customer in France. PMJ has also received a large order for the delivery of a telecommunications component manufacturing line to a contract manufacturer in Scotland. In addition, PMJ has received orders for odd-form PCB assembly and depanelling cells that are to be delivered to the USA.

The total value of the orders that have now been received and the letters of intent amount to about FIM 25 million. The deliveries will take place during the second and third quarters. PMJ has already delivered similar equipment to the same customers in the autumn of 1999.

According to the advance information released last week, the PMJ group's turnover for 1999 increased by 88 percent to Eur 40.6 million (1998: 21.5). At the end of the year, the group employed 392 people (1998: 171), with the average number of personnel being 265 (1998: 151). In 2000, PMJ's turnover is expected to exceed Eur 70 million.

PMJ's financial results for 1999 will be published on Thursday, 17 February 2000.
