Zuken-Redac Inc. and OHIO Design Automation, Inc. announced recently that they have signed an OEM agreement for Zuken-Redac to distribute OHIO's InterComm software worldwide. Zuken-Redac will provide InterComm sales, support, and training in the USA, Europe and Asia.

"As it prepares to enter the twenty-first century, Zuken-Redac is transforming itself from a seller of tools such as CAD/CAM systems into a solutions vendor, providing total infrastructures for design and production environments", says Mark Ashton, Marketing Manager, for Zuken-Redac. "We feel InterComm is a key aspect of an overall solution."

InterComm, initially released by OHIO in March, 1998, is an innovative Internet communication concept that addresses the problem of sharing complex design data in a simple way. It allows anybody in the organization to quickly browse intelligent schematic and PCB design data and effectively communicate design issues.

"One of the main attractions of InterComm is EDA vendor independence", continues Mr Ashton. "One tool can be used for browsing all legacy databases, with the interface being identical regardless of the source schematic or CAD system. Anyone in the company can view a database without needing to learn anything about the host EDA system. InterComm provides a natural extension of our EDA solution for the entire product development team."
