EIPC to manage EPC2000
The Board of Directors of the EIPC voted unanimously on the 20 January to accept a proposal from EFIP (the European Federation of Interconnections and Packaging) to manage the next European Printed Circuit Convention in Maastricht, The Netherlands.
This event, scheduled to run from 4-6 October 2000, is the third EPC show. Managed under the theme "by the industry for the industry", EPC is Europe's Printed Circuit/Interconnection industry event, on a level with other shows run by World Electronic Circuits Council members, such as IPC Expo in the USA, the JPCA show in Japan, and the CPCA show in China.
Following the success of the first EPC event in Wiesbaden, 1998, and a collaboration with Messe Muenchen at Productronica in 1999, the EPC 2000 show will once again present the focussed atmosphere enjoyed at Wiesbaden in the modern surroundings of the new Maastricht Exhibition and Conference Center. EPC 2000 will combine an exhibition, technical conferences and a social program which guarantees to exhibitors and visitors alike a forum to exchange ideas, network and catch up on the latest products and trends in the industry. The MECC in Maastricht is a beautiful, modern and functional venue for such a Convention, with complete up-to-date facilities, a functional and compact layout, sensible traffic flows and an appealing design.
It is expected that leading suppliers from all over the world will be represented with stands at the EPC 2000 event; nearly 50 per cent of the available stand space (of over 8,500 square metres) has already been confirmed.
In the heart of Northern Europe's technology triangle, Maastricht is readily accessible by rail from all of Europe. Brussels, Dusseldorf and Cologne airports lie only one hour's drive away from Maastricht. Maastricht/Aachen airport is only 10 minutes drive away from the city center and served with flights from many points in Europe. Connections from Amsterdam are available six times per day.
The historic city of Maastricht offers much in the way of fine dining and entertainment. Maastricht is the place that marked the confirmation of the modern European deal of unity. Come join the industry at EPC 2000 in Maastricht!
