IPC has promoted John Riley to vice president of professional development. In his new role, Riley is responsible for IPC's education and video/computer-based training departments. Riley, who was director of education, says there is a natural alliance between the two departments. For example, he points to IPC's rework and repair certification program, which will be available in early 2000.

The IPC education department will administer the course, but the program will incorporate four videos. "It is my responsibility to create a shared vision for the role IPC Video should take to better serve the training needs of our membership", says Riley.

Riley came to IPC in 1995 as manager of professional development. He received a master's degree in English Literature from the University of Chicago and bachelor's degrees in English and Philosophy from Vanderbilt.
