Background
The RIO+5 country summary reports have revealed that there are many ongoing activities which are being undertaken in pursuit of sustainable natural resources and economic development. Underlying these activities is the need for providing and ensuring access to environmental data and information by all decision makers not just those in charge of policy decisions. The seminar will explore salient issues which must be addressed in the planning and implementation of sectoral and national environmental information systems.
