Having a 900 × 410 mm worktable set on a heavy duty cast bed with extended bearing blocks for the 460 mm vertical Z-axis, the Dugard Eagle 760 VMC has been developed to provide a competitively priced machine targeted at subcontract companies seeking a flexible, general good capacity machining centre providing heavy duty cutting cycles.

Available from C Dugard of Hove, UK, the Dugard Eagle 760 has a working volume of 760 mm in X, 430 mm in Y and 460 mm in Z. The 7.5 kW 40 taper spindle delivers 8,000 revs/min and rapid traverse rates are 24 m/min to a positioning accuracy of +0.005 mm. There are two control system options of Fanuc O/MC or Fagor CMC 8055-/which has up to 1 Mb of RAM and option of 2 GB of compact flash memory, rigid tapping is standard.

A 16 tool carousel magazine able to accept tools up to 89 mm diameter and 5.4 kg in weight is standard and a high pressure chip flushing system is supplied from a 210 l wheeled coolant tank for ease of cleaning.

Ease of access has also been provided to the working area is by twin, slide aside doors and the overall design of the machine is compact requiring minimal floor space of 2,200 × 1,815 mm.
