Actel Corporation recently announced an expanded line of lot-by-lot tested RadTolerant field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). These devices are designed to meet all types of digital logic requirements for space applications, including commercial, military and civilian satellites as well as deep-space exploration. Actel's RadTolerant products offer a wide range of gate densities, packaging options, radiation survivability and price points and include complete total dose radiation test reports on every lot of devices.

Mike Sarpa, HiRel product marketing manager said:

These products are part of Actel's ongoing commitment to provide the highest level of quality and reliability to our HiRel, space and military customers. By now offering specific lot-by-lot testing, we allow customers to easily and inexpensively evaluate RadTolerant devices against stringent program requirements - helping to assure them of program success and the ability to meet crucial time-to-launch schedules.

Actel's full line of HiRel products was recently awarded full certification to Qualified Manufacturer's Listing (QML) Status by the Defense Supply Center, Columbus, Ohio (DSCC). In addition, all of Actel's RadTolerant devices have design- and pin-compatible commercial versions for easy and inexpensive prototyping.

Actel offers a wide range of RadTolerant devices that are available for immediate design starts with current revisions of Actel's Designer Series software, and are offered in a variety of Ceramic Quad Flat Pack (CQFP) packages. Total Ionizing Dose (TID) is measured on each lot and sample data from past testing are available. RadTolerant devices are offered to MIL-STD-883 Class B flow and Actel's Space level "E-flow". Contact Actel for availability on all devices and for "E-flow" pricing.

Actel HiRel devices are supported by Actel's DeskTOP integrated suite of development tools, including Synplify VHDL/Verilog synthesis from Synplicity, VHDL design verification and management tools from VeriBest and Actel's Designer Series place and route tools, featuring fully deterministic and controllable timing for easy design reuse. These devices are also supported by a variety of leading third-party software packages.
