Chance & Hunt introduces A'SIL fumed silicas

Keywords: Coatings, Coatings technology

Chance & Hunt has introduced A'SIL fumed silicas (SiO2) from DVS Ukraine into its product range.

The hydrophilic and hydrophobic fumed silicas are used in a range of applications including: batteries, adhesives and sealants, silicone rubber, fire-extinguishing powder, glass, UP- resins, paints and coatings, printing inks, toners, pigments, personal care products, pharmaceuticals and polyester.

Lynda Harrison, Product Manager, Chance & Hunt, said: “These fumed silicas have excellent properties as thickeners and thixotropes in liquids, as well as improving the suspension behaviour and re-dispersibility of solids in liquid systems and reducing `caking' of powders. They also have outstanding thermal insulation properties and can be used to control electrostatic charge effect on powders”.

Fumed silica is an essential ingredient for coatings, and the addition of these products to the range offers the customer greater purchasing flexibility.

Chance & Hunt's sister companies within the Azelis Group also distribute A'SIL products in Italy, France, Nordic regions and Eastern Europe (including Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine).
