VMB and FOSAG strengthen collaboration

VMB and FOSAG strengthen collaboration

More than 10 years ago, two Dutch organizations, the Association of Metal Protection Companies (VMB) and the Royal Federation of Painting Companies (FOSAG), partnered to form the co-operation of Metal Protection Companies, or SSM.

According to the VMB, whose membership includes more than 80 percent of the metal protection contractors in The Netherlands, recent rules and regulations concerning worker safety and the environment have significantly impacted the metal protection industry. Therefore, effective from 1 January 2003, VMB has reported that it has moved its secretary to FOSAG to "form a stronger partnership in discussions with relevant authorities."

The move enables VMB to "make optimum use of FOSAG's legal services, while FOSAG can take advantage of the VMB secretariat's technical know-how." Both the VMB and FOSAG will continue to operate independently; existing arrangements between the VMB and other industry organizations will not change. The VMB also reports that it will expand services for its membership extensively during the year.
