As part of its range of automatic plastic coating machines, Gravatom Engineering has introduced the Harrier system for coating high volumes of wirework and light material fabrications (Plate 7).
Plate 7Gravatom Engineering's new Harrier system for the plastic coating of high volumes of wirework and light material fabrications
According to Gravatom, the Harrier as a modular system, enables the volume and speed of coating to be easily adapted to suit customers' needs. The Harrier has both preheat and cure stages, which increase speed and economy and claims a higher quality finish over traditional coaters. The system is controlled using a touch screen PLC MMI, with manual load and unload stages.
Excellent results are said to be achieved from a wide range of thermoplastic and high performance polymer materials by the use of fluid bed coating technology. The resulting thermoplastic coating is reported to offer superior, impact resistant qualities over many thermoset materials. This process is thought to be up to four times faster than equivalent powder coating processes. It is also stated that the technique will not miss areas.
Four standard module configurations are available, with space for a water quench as an option. The entry model has one preheat oven, one auto dip and one cure oven, with the larger designs incorporating up to 20 stages including the in-line pre-treatment.
All machines are CE marked and fully supported, worldwide, for servicing and spares requirements.
