New SMT placement systems from Assembléon enhance speed, flexibility and ease of use
Keywords: Electronics, Assembly
Increased speed and high accuracy make new component mounting systems from Assembléon very attractive to electronics manufacturers wishing to expand their options. The Topaz-XII brings high-speed flexibility and top-class performance to the production floor, and the Emerald-XII delivers ultra-fine pitch placement at very impressive speeds. Both models feature a high-resolution Graphical User Interface (GUI) for maximum ease of operation.
Plate 2 New Gem-XII series component mounting systems from Assembléon offer an unparallelled combination of speed, accuracy, flexibility, reliability and ease of use
Assembléon is introducing four new component mounting models whose improved speed, accuracy, reliability and ease of use offer unparalleled performance and provide more flexible solutions. The Topaz-XII and Emerald-XII run on Windows NTTM embedded software and are part of Assembléon's Gem Series, which provides the ideal platform for SMT manufacturers looking for maximum flexibility and optimum output. Their accuracy comes from the innovative MACS system, which maintains the machine within defined boundaries to ensure continuous, precise operation. With this feature the Topaz-XII and the Emerald-XII are ideal for round-the-clock production (Plate 2).
The Topaz-XII delivers the perfect balance between high-speed production and accuracy without cornpromising either. It can place up to 20000 components per hour, with a component mix ranging from 0201s and CSPs to BGAs and large, fine-pitch QFPs.
The Emerald-XII is designed for applications that require the highest accuracy for mounting the finest pitch ICs. Its placement rate is impressive – up to 6800 components per hour, including 0201 s, QFPs up to 54mm2, connectors, switches and odd-shaped components up to 100mm in length.
The GUI makes system operation easier, more logical and less prone to errors. It also means that less training is required for new staff, and operators can quickly take over a system for maximum efficiency.
