Obituary: Xiaoyun Wang

Article Type: Obituary From: South Asian Journal of Global Business Research, Volume 3, Issue 1

Dr Xiaoyun Wang passed away on May 31, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.

Xiaoyun was born on January 14, 1964 in China. She received her PhD from McGill University (Canada) in 2001 and then went on to work at Asper Business School, University of Manitoba (Canada). She was a beloved editorial board member of the South Asian Journal of Global Business Research (SAJGBR) and supported SAJGBR, its mission and scholarly activities since its inception.

During her short academic career, fighting with cancer most of the time, Xiaoyun had over 30 research articles including high-quality refereed journals, book chapters, and unpublished papers. Xiaoyun had received many research grants including the Canadian SSHRC in 2002-2005 and 2007-2010. She has also received the CMA Award on Research & Teaching and the Associates’ Achievement Award on Research from the Asper School of Business in 2006. Xiaoyun was not only a productive scholar, she was also graceful, gentle and kind. We all miss her dearly.

Xiaoyun is survived by her son, Leo, and husband, Kuizhong. She leaves behind a legacy of interesting work for scholars to review and learn from – for many years to come.
