Abstract

This paper presents the results of an experimental [1] [2] and theoretical investigation into some aspects of the yarn appearing in warp knitted fabrics: Here, the formulae of the lapping heights have been established. The appearance of the yarn depends mainly on parameters such as the lapping height, the angle of the yarn around the needle and the friction coefficient between the yarn and the needle. Consequently, a rule guiding the covering of one yarn by another in fabrics has been found, so that either the front or back yarns appearing on the face side of fabric can be properly controlled.
