Counting the Cost of Going Green
Abstract
Discusses the effect of man′s interference with the planet and lists various ways in which it is, and can be, turned around. Claims that interest in an environmental policy is increasing owing mainly to the possible financial gains. Breaks down the decision‐making process of “buying green”. Concludes with a list of challenges for the professional facilities manager and suggests ways in which he/she can influence management, suppliers and legislation to carry out an environmental policy.
