Abstract
Traditional methods of developing computer systems have left many companies without the systems they need and many potential users despairing of ever getting a system worth using. Structured techniques and computer‐aided tools are hyped as the answer to all systems development problems. Are they solutions or just other ways for computer departments to spend money?
