Research note: Reporting anti‐social behaviour
Abstract
In general, surveys conducted by post are much cheaper than individual interviews and they can be attractive when budgets are limited. While results differ between the two methods ‐ respondents tend to be more positive in their comments when faced with an interviewer ‐ such differences are usually quite small. However, in some research areas this difference can be much larger. This paper reports large differences between the two methods in the case of reporting anti‐social behaviour.
