Abstract

Provides insight into the benefits and effectiveness of online education from the perspective of one graduate student attending an almost completely “virtual” university. Includes the author’s observations and comments, but also contains quotes from researchers who have been investigating this alternative education option for several years. Issues explored focus on the differences between traditional and online education, emphasizing the ability of the computer‐based online environment to expand the experiences and deepen the learning opportunities for students choosing this mode of delivery.
