Abstract
Highlights social policy in Romania and how it has changed from pre‐1990 to its situation today (from nil to 9 per cent unemployment!). Covers the Laws and Acts therein in great detail, showing how they are used and when. Concludes the “social pact” signed between the government and the unions, to which no other social category takes part, is proof that social policies are influenced by the work contract.
