Abstract

Economists and investment managers have spoken with one voice in predicting a future rise in mergers and acquisition (M&A) activity across the USA, Europe and the UK. Whilst 2003 experienced a steady volume of deal activity, it only took until February this year for the dollar value of worldwide M&A activity to exceed the previous October 2000 record of $286.3 billion.
