Telecom engineers call up training

A group of telecommunicaiton engineers are the latest people to become graduates of the Synergy Training Accreditation (STA) Project programme. All members of the group were experienced telecommunicaiton engineers but needed to acquire training skills so that they could train other engineers for a particular project. The project organizers approached Training Synergy, a UK supplier of freelance IT trainers, for help. The result was that the group of engineers embarked on the STA Project programme.

Training Synergy’s STA Project programme has been mapped against the Institute of IT Training’s defined-skills framework to ensure it conforms to industry-accepted best practice with regard to training practice. In addition, the STA Project programme not only delivers effective training skills to its students but also provides information on legislative, organizational and financial topics, showing them how to operate successfully as professional freelance trainers.

David Field, of Training Synergy, commented: “STA Project deals with providing essential training-delivery skills, so those on the programme must already have knowledge and skills in IT systems. Increasingly, we find that organizations are looking for cost-effective ways of delivering projects, including training. This is leading them to look at new, more flexible ways of resourcing training – contracting with suppliers of these resources for only what is needed, as and when it is needed.”
